According to the group’s latest trading update, the total volume harvested in the last quarter was 127,000 metric tons (MT) gutted weight equivalent (GWE), up from 116,000 MT in Q4 2019.
Mowi had previously guided a total harvest volume of 128,900 MT for the final three months of 2020.
Its total harvested volume in the period comprised 78,500 MT from Norway (66,000 MT in Q4 2019), 13,000 MT from Scotland (14,000 MT in Q4 2019), 12,500 MT from Canada (16,000 in Q4 2019), 20,500 MT from Chile (up 4,000 MT from Q4 2019), 1,000 MT from Ireland (the same as in Q4 2019), and 1,500 MT from the Faroes (2,500 MT in Q4 2019).
Mowi’s operational EBIT of salmon of Norwegian origin in Q4 2020 fell to EUR 0.75 (USD 0.90) per kg from EUR 2.10 (USD 2.53) a year previously. Operational EBIT declines were also seen in its salmon of Canadian, Irish, and Faroese origin, which amounted to EUR -1.10 (USD -1.32), EUR 2.60 (USD 3.14) and EUR -0.75 (USD -0.90) per kilogram, respectively.
Meanwhile, the operational EBIT for salmon of Scottish and Chilean origin increased to EUR 1.55 (USD 1.87) and EUR -0.50 (USD -0.60) per kilo, respectively.
The blended farming cost per kg harvested was EUR 4.28 (USD 5.16), a reduction from EUR 4.40 (USD 5.31) in Q4 2019. In the third-quarter, the blended farming cost was EUR 4.23 (USD 5.10) per kilo.
Operational EBIT in its Consumer Products in Q4 2020 was EUR 35 million (USD 42.2 million), and EUR 14 million (USD 16.9 million) for its Feed segment.
The reported financial net interest-bearing debt (NIBD) was approximately EUR 1.46 billion (USD 1.8 billion) at the end of the quarter.
