Maritech hires Will Greenwood as managing director of North America region

Maritech, a provider of software and analytic tools to the seafood industry, has hired Will Greenwood as its new managing director of its North America region.

Greenwood, 46, has worked as a senior ERP consultant in Maritech’s Halifax office since 2017. He has nearly two decades of experience in the field of automotive ERP.

“Maritech has huge potential in North America, as we are the only company in the world that is offering a complete cloud platform tailored for seafood processes,” Greenwood said in a press release. “The first implementations started 1.5 years ago, and we see an extremely positive trend. A major advantage is that our software is adaptable to all kinds of seafood companies, from large to small, the software can be tailored to the customer no matter what their size is. Different modules are specific to the different kinds of companies throughout the seafood value chain, such as traders, fishermen, processors, and aquaculture companies. Everything is built according to best-of-breed methodology, in Microsoft Azure, and the users can now easily access their systems anytime, anywhere.”

Molde, Norway-based Maritech, owned by Broodstock Capital since 2017 and with branches in Iceland and Canada, is a developer and provider of digital solutions for controlling, tracking, and digitalizing processes in the seafood value chain, including landing, production, processing, packing, trading, logistics, and warehouse management. Through its 2019 acquisition of Timpex, Maritech now also provides software for transport and logistics, and the company also recently purchased Lillebakk, a supplier of solutions for third-party logistics, and the seafood analysis company Sea Data Centerv in Iceland.

The company said it hired 26 employees in 2021 and 24 thus far in 2022, with plans to hire additional developers, consultants, and sales representatives in North America this year.

“Our ambition is to revolutionize the seafood industry,” Greenwood said. “The experience from our recent cloud software implementations, such as Grieg Seafood in both Norway and Canada, proves that we are very well-positioned to lead the digital transition of the entire seafood value chain. It is great to see how our new solutions are welcomed in the market, new companies are contacting us now to see how we can help them work more efficiently, generate more revenue, and be more sustainable.”
