The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded contracts for nearly USD 2 million (EUR 1.9 million) worth of U.S. pollock to Trident Seafoods and Channel Fish Processing, and an additionall USD 885,000 (EUR 840,000) in catfish contracts.
Braintree, Massachusetts, U.S.A-based Channel Fish Processing Co. will supply USD 817,000 (EUR 775,000) worth of frozen breaded Alaska fish sticks, with Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.-based Trident supplying around USD 785,000 (EUR 745,000) worth of bulk frozen Alaska pollock.
The USDA purchased a total of 543,000 pounds of pollock, paying between USD 2.81 (EUR 267) and USD 2.87 (EUR 2.72) per pound for bulk pollock, and USD 2.70 (EUR 2.56) to USD 3.30 (EUR 3.13) per pound for the frozen fish sticks.
The companies will deliver the fish between February and June 2023.
Separately, several suppliers split a new USDA contract for USD 875,000 worth of catfish products to be delivered between January and June 2023.
Itta Bena, Mississippi, U.S.A.-based America’s Catch will supply nearly USD 176,000 (EUR 167,000) worth of raw, unbreaded catfish fillets, while Isola, Mississippi-based Consolidated Catfish will supply around USD 335,000 (EUR 318,000) worth of breaded catfish strips.
Itta Bena, Mississippi-based Heartland Catfish will supply around USD 178,600 (EUR 169,000) worth of raw, unbreaded catfish fillets, while Simmons Farm Raised Catfish in Yazoo City, Mississippi, will supply nearly USD 196,000 (EUR 186,000) worth of raw unbreaded fillets.
