The 2018 Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global will take place 24 to 26 April, 2018, at the Brussels Expo in Brussels, Belgium, according to organizer Diversified Communications.
The group announced the dates of the show in a press release on 12 June, 2017, along with the launch of its updated website for the 2017 show, www.seafoodexpo.com/global.
The upcoming 2018 Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global will follow on the heels of the highly successful 2017 exposition, which took place 25 to 27 April, 2017 in Brussels, Belgium. Diversified Communications announced on 12 June that this year’s edition drew more than 28,500 buyers and suppliers from 150 countries. Additionally, the expo featured the stands of 1,859 exhibiting companies from 79 countries, showcasing seafood products, services and equipment across 38,338 net square meters of combined exhibit space.
A total of 73 national and regional pavilions exhibited at the expo, including new representation from Latvia, Myanmar, Poland and Venezuela. Other exhibiting countries new to the expo included Costa Rica, Cyprus and Romania.
“It is very impressive to see the exposition grow year after year,” Diversified Communications Event Director Wynter Courmont said. “This is a strong indication that business continuity is important to the industry and seafood and processing companies from around the globe are counting on this event to reach their business goals. The continued growth of this event shows the value of face-to-face meetings for buyers and suppliers doing business in the global seafood industry.”
Key seafood buyers attending this year’s show came from around the world and represented a significant percentage of the world’s retail and foodservice outlets. They included buyers from restaurants, supermarkets, hotels, catering services, importers, distributors, seafood markets and more. A record 455 high-volume buyers participated in the expo’s Key Buyer program in 2017.
