Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America, North America’s largest seafood trade event, kicked off on 16 March in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.

North America’s largest seafood trade event – produced by Diversified – opened for its 43rd edition, running from 16 March through 18 March. The latest edition of the event occupies 249,665 net square feet with 1,215 exhibiting companies from 51 countries – including new participating countries from Bahrain, Croatia, Ireland, Mauritius, Puerto Rico, and United Arab Emirates; and an increased presence from countries including China, Ecuador, France, Japan, Norway and Vietnam, Diversified said. [Editor’s note: Diversified also owns and operates SeafoodSource.]

“The strong presence of global seafood companies at this year’s edition reinforces the importance of having a platform where the industry can come together to forage new partnerships, conduct business and identify and address unique challenges,” Diversified Vice President of Seafood Wynter Courmont said. “Over the next three days, there will be numerous opportunities for attendees to learn about new products, processing and equipment and the industry at large through the conference program, keynote address, product demonstrations, the Seafood Excellence Awards reception and more.”

On the Seafood Expo North America side of the exhibit hall, Diversified said a range of seafood companies will display a variety of fresh, frozen, canned, value-added, processed, and packaged seafood products. Companies attending include AquaChile, Balfego & Balfego SL, Bakkafrost, Handy International, Hiddenfjord, Hilo Fish Company Inc., MOWI, Northern Wind, Pacific Seafood Group, Trident Seafoods, Worldwide Fishing Company, and more.

The conference program kicks off on 16 March at 11:15 a.m. with a keynote from Nomi Prins, PhD, macro-economist, geopolitical financial expert, and best-selling author. Prins’ keynote, “Riding the Waves: Navigating Economic, Energy, and Trade Policies Impacting the Seafood Industry in 2025,” provides an economic outlook for the seafood industry on a range of topics, including tariff policies and regulations and its impacts on the North American and global supply chain, energy prices, sustainability, AI, traceability and more.
