U.S.A.-based international seafood importer Stavis Seafoods has hired Brandii Holmdahl as its new director of quality, effective immediately.
Holmdahl, who has more than 20 years of experience in the seafood and quality realms, most recently worked for Icicle Seafoods's subsidiary Seward Fish as its quality operations manager. In that role, she implemented database tracking and traceability programs and guided the company through BRC audits. Prior to that, Holmdahl served as Icicle’s Northwest Manager for Quality Operations, working alongside harvesters to improve raw product quality and traceability through training and innovation.
In her new role with Stavis Seafoods, Holmdahl will oversee the overall quality and consistency of the company’s seafood, which includes food safety, standards implementation and auditing, and developing process and traceability controls at all of Stavis’ locations, the company explained in a release. Holmdahl will also lead Stavis in its efforts to meet the global standards of the British Retail Consortium (BRC).

“Quality will have a broader role in our business plan and this restructured position will partner with senior managers in making business, safety and even product decisions. She understands processes and new technology and can provide data analysis to enhance our monitoring, training, traceability and food safety programs. She has hands-on experience with BRC auditing and has worked on processing lines, docks and in plants which makes her ideally suited to work along side all the stakeholders involved in our business.”
Holmdahl is independent auditor certified by NOAA/USDC HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, IPM and AQS. She has also held plant manager positions with Snopak Seafoods and Snug Harbor, and has held a seat with the Borough Assembly Representative for District 6 (Kenai Peninsula, Alaska).
