China’s Ocean Family seeks USD 940 million for processing, trading hub

One of China’s largest seafood firms is trying to assemble investors to build a CNY 6.4 billion (USD 945 million, EUR 824 million) port and bonded warehouse zone for processing and trading seafood caught overseas by Chinese fishing companies.

Da Yang Shi Jia – which also goes by the English name Ocean Family - organized a high-profile signing ceremony recently. The ceremony featured a dozen executives from different firms who signed on their support for the huge project, based in Zhoushan – traditionally the busiest fishing port on China’s east coast.

The Zhoushan Long Distance Fishing Base will feature processing, trading and services alongside bonded warehouses, according to the project documents released by Da Yang Shi Jia, which operates fishing vessels as well as processing and distribution arms.
