Norwegian salmon-farming firm Mowi harvested approximately 152,000 gutted weight tons (GWT) of farmed Atlantic salmon in the fourth quarter of 2025, around 18,500 GWT more than in the corresponding period of the previous year and an all-time high for the year-end reporting period.
The Q4 volume contributed to a record full-year harvest of 559,000 GWT, surpassing 2024’s 502,000 GWT.
According to the Bergen, Norway-headquartered group’s latest trading update, in Q4, its Farming Norway operations harvested 98,000 GWT (up from 83,500 GWT in Q4 2024), Farming Chile harvested 26,500 GWT (up from 22,500 GWT,) Farming Scotland contributed 12,500 GWT (down from 17,000 GWT), Farming Canada harvested 6,500 GWT (up from 5,000 GWT), Farming Iceland, also known as Arctic Fish, contributed 4,000 GWT (up from 3,500 GWT), Farming Faroes produced 3,500 GWT (up from 1,000 GWT), and Farming Ireland brought in 1,000 GWT (level with Q4 2024),
For the full year of 2025, Mowi expects to confirm a 332,000-GWT harvest from Norway, 78,000 GWT from Chile, 72,000 GWT from Scotland, 37,000 GWT from Canada, 15,000 GWT from both the Faroes and Iceland, and 11,000 GWT from Ireland.
Mowi’s salmon of Norwegian origin achieved an operational EBIT per kilogram of EUR 2.00 (USD 2.34) in Q4, which was down from EUR 2.20 (USD 2.57) in Q4 2024. The operational EBITs for salmon of Chilean, Canadian, and Icelandic origin also decreased – to EUR 0.35 (USD 0.40), EUR -2.30 (USD -2.69), and EUR 0.10 (USD 0.11) per kilogram, respectively – while the operational EBIT for salmon of Scottish origin remained at EUR 1.40 (USD 1.63) per kilogram. Salmon of Faroese origin increased to EUR 1.65 (USD 1.93).
Mowi’s update estimates its Q4 2025 operational EBIT to be approximately EUR 213 million (USD 249.5 million), which would represent a decrease of around EUR 13 million (USD 15.2 million) compared to the closing quarter of 2024, when an EBIT of EUR 226 million (USD 264.7 million) was reported.
The Q4 2025 operational EBIT recorded for Mowi’s Consumer Products segment was around EUR 46 million (USD 53.9 million), which was EUR 7 million (USD 8.2 million) less than in the same period of 2024. Its operational EBITDA for its Feed business was EUR 20 million (USD 23.4 million), which was down EUR 1 million (USD 1.2 million) compared to the previous year.
At the end of Q4, the firm’s financial net interest-bearing debt (NIBD) for the entire group was approximately EUR 2.65 billion (USD 3.1 billion).
