In its latest trading update, Bergen, Norway-headquartered salmon-farming firm Lerøy Seafood Group (LSG) reported that it harvested approximately 49,300 gutted weight tons (GWT) of salmon and trout in the fourth quarter of 2025, marking a 7,500-GWT decrease compared to the corresponding period of 2024.

By region, the firm’s Lerøy Sjøtroll operations harvested 16,800 GWT, of which 7,900 GWT was trout; Lerøy Aurora harvested 16,400 GWT in Q4 2025, and Lerøy Midt harvested 16,200 GWT.

Though the firm reported a lower harvest in the three-month period, the volume for the full year of 2025 increased by 24,400 GWT to 195,600 GWT. The totals for these periods exclude harvests from LSG’s 50 percent stake in Scottish Seafarms,

Elsewhere in the update, LSG reported that its wild catch in Q4 2025, fulfilled by its Lerøy Havfisk segment, totaled 7,600 metric tons (MT), representing a decrease of 2,200 MT year over year. The quarter’s catch included 2,700 MT of cod, compared with 3,100 MT previously.

Its total catch volume for the year is estimated at 57,700 MT, compared to 2024’s 65,000 MT.

In the company’s Q3 2025 financial report, LSG CEO Henning Beltestad said there are prospects for further reductions in cod quotas in 2026, which may decrease wild catch totals even further this year, but early indications suggest these may increase again starting in 2027.

Lerøy’s complete Q4 2025 report will be released on 24 February 2026.

Fellow Norwegian salmon-farming firm Grieg Seafood reported a Q4 2025 harvest of approximately 7,400 GWT of Atlantic salmon from its continued operations in the Rogaland region of Norway.

Also based in Bergen, the producer has estimated its total volume for the full year of 2025, which saw the firm sell its Canadian and Finnmark, Norway, operations to Cermaq, to be 30,500 GWT.

In Q4 2024, Rogaland harvested 8,100 GWT, while the region’s total in 2024 amounted to 23,600 GWT.

Q4 followed a quarter in which Grieg faced high costs and conducted layoffs

The firm has said its full focus in 2026 will be on its core Norwegian operations in Rogaland.

Grieg’s full Q4 2025 report will be published on 25 February.
