Fish are still dying here, and breeders are getting fed up

Breeders in Vietnam who are upset with mass deaths of river-farmed fish have taken an unusual step to get their message across to authorities.

Farmers scooped up hundreds of pounds of dead fish and carted them via hired tricycle transport to the gates of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province government, in a public display and demand that officials take action to prevent more deaths, according to local media.

They are trying to get the government to see the Cha Va River has been contaminated, causing the deaths. While there has been no official explanation, the breeders are accusing 18 seafood processing plants located in Tan Hai commune of discharging wastewater into the river.
