Kent, Washington, U.S.A.-based Western United Fish Company, which conducts business as Annasea Foods Group, has voluntarily recalled more than 3,000 pounds of Kirkland Signature brand Tuna Wasabi Poke due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination in the green onions used in the product.

The product, which was labeled with the Kirkland Signature brand and sold in clear plastic clamshell packaging, had a "Pack Date" of 18 September 2025 and a "Sell By Date" of 22 September 2025.

Listeria can cause serious, even fatal, infections in medically vulnerable people such as the elderly or children and can cause serious complications during pregnancy.

Western United initiated the recall after the company’s green onion supplier alerted it to the potential for Listeria contamination; the company said it is working with the supplier to determine the cause of the contamination.

The affected product was sold at Costco Warehouse stores in the deli section on 18 September in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

Western United has advised the public to dispose of the product immediately and not to consume it. Costco will offer consumers a full refund for returns.

No illnesses have been reported from the product yet.
