Andfjord Salmon announced 6 October that it has appointed a new Chief Financial Officer and a new Chief Commercial Officer.
The company has named Bjarne Martinsen, a former finance manager in the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, to the position of CFO. Martinsen has 15 years of experience in finance roles, including his experience with the food safety authority.
“To be able to work with a sustainable and innovative company like this, is an opportunity that only occurs once,” Martinsen said in a release. “I am looking forward to getting started. Leaving Mattilsynet (Norwegian Food Safety Authority) is a pity, but I had to get on this amazing sustainability train.”
The new CCO position will be filled by Helge Krøgenes, the co-founder of Andfjord Salmon. Krøgenes has previously served as both the head of finance and the head of business developments, and is now joining the new management team, which CEO Martin Rasmussen said is key to the “next phase” of the company’s growth.
“It will be very exciting to take on the next task in this adventure. As Chief Commercial Officer, it will be my job to make the market ready for the Andfjord salmon, as well as ensuring good utilization of the commercial potential in all parts of the company,” Krøgenes said.
Krøgenes has been with the company since 2016, and is starting the new position alongside Martinsen in January.
“Time goes by fast, and it is not long until we have salmon ready to go on the market,” Krøgenes said. “We will deliver a sustainable product of the highest quality, which has every opportunity on the market. In addition, we have many other commercial opportunities. I am really looking forward to this challenge.”
