Shako Flexipack reports growth in demand for recyclable packaging products

Mumbai, India-based Shako Flexipack is a manufacturer of customized packaging solutions, counts food companies such as Tastee Choice, Wholey, Bremer, and Priano as clients.

Founded in 1992 and with its manufacturing facility located in Gujarat, India, capable of producing 1,000 metric tons of laminated product per month, Shako Flexipack provides rotogravure, flexographic, and digital flexible packaging for ready-to-eat foods, frozen foods, snack foods, sauces, foodservice, pharmaceutical, household, and nutraceutical products.

Currently, around 25 to 30 percent of Shako Flexipack’s business involves seafood products, according to the company’s business development executive, Manish Prasad. Speaking to SeafoodSource on 13 March at Seafood Expo North America in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A., Prasad said the company can produce “practically any time of bag” demanded by the seafood industry.

“We are ready to meet our customers’ requirements,” Prasad said.

Lately, the seafood industry has been interested in more-sustainable packaging, such as recyclable and biodegradable products.

“We want to be a partner in innovation and help to make more environmentally friendly products,” Prasad said.
