Vinh Hoan’s July export value surges on growth in all markets

Vietnam’s leading pangasius exporter, Vinh Hoan, saw its sales grow in July as demand improved in all its major markets.

The company exported VND 765 billion (USD 33.4 million, EUR 28.3 million) worth of seafood products in the month, up 21 percent year-on-year.

The U.S. continued to be the top destination for seafood products from Vinh Hoan in value, importing products worth VND 329 billion (USD 14.4 million, EUR 12.2 million) in July, 31 percent higher year-on-year.

It was followed by the European Union, which purchased VND 128 billion (USD 4.7 million, EUR 4 million) of pangasius products from the Vietnamese company, surging 14 percent year-on-year. The company’s sales to China went up 18 percent to VND 121 billion (USD 5.3 million, EUR 4.5 million). The value of its exports to its remaining markets in the month grew 14 percent year-on-year to VND 186 billion (USD 8.1 million, EUR 6.9 million), the company said.

Vinh Hoan earned VND 554 billion (USD 24.2 million, EUR 20.5 million) from the exports of pangasius products in July, an increase of 27 percent year-on-year. The company’s byproducts sales in the month also rose 15 percent year-on-year to VND 125 billion (USD 5.5 million, EUR 4.6 million) while its wellness product exports climbed 19 percent to VND 60 billion (USD 2.6 million, EUR 2.2 million).

Compared with June, the export value in July surged 7 percent, with sales to its key markets -  the U.S., China, and Europe - all growing by between 10 percent and 28 percent.

In July, Vinh Hoan’s Sa Giang subsidiary posted sales value of VND 46.4 billion (USD 2 million, EUR 1.7 million), a jump of 50 percent from June, comprising VND 5 billion (USD 217,000, EUR 184,000) from Vietnam, 24 percent higher month-on-month; and VND 38 billion (USD 1.7 million, EUR 1.4 million) from Europe, up 50 percent from June.

Sa Giang’s shrimp chips sales soared 52 percent month-on-month to VND 36.4 billion (USD 1.6 million, EUR 1.4 million) in July.

In a separate move, Vinh Hoan announced 11 August that it has transferred the ownership right of a land lot in the My Hiep Industrial Park in Dong Thap Province to Feed One Company Limited for building an aquafeed plant. The value of the transaction is equivalent to the contributing capital of Vinh Hoan to the project, the company said, without providing further details.
