High Liner eyes $1b in annual sales

Since 2007, High Liner Foods (USA) has seen annual sales jump from USD 100 million to USD 730 million. The seafood supplier has made two major acquisitions in the past 19 months and continued to expand its global sustainability programs. It has announced plans to consolidate its operations in the United States and it has been transformed from a Canadian-centric company to an American one.

“We want to be a billion dollar company in the next few years,” Drucker said.

High Liner Foods employs 166 full-time and as many 80 temporary workers at its Portsmouth production facility, and has 1,200 workers overall in Canada and the United States. It has also emerged as one of the top frozen and value-added seafood suppliers on the East Coast and one of the Top 5 in the country.

But Drucker said the company can’t stop to reflect much because of the hyper-competitive nature of the seafood business.
