ESQU Certified Canadian farmed salmon was recently introduced to the market by John Nagle Co. in Boston.
ESQU farmed salmon is sourced solely from producers and suppliers that are certified based on the Food Marketing Institute's Safe Quality Food program.
The product is also "full chain" certified, meaning that each step of the process - feeding, growing and processing - is SQF certified.
"It has taken two years to complete all phases of the certification process and is no small feat in today's complex business environment," said Jim Gracie, president of SQNB Marketing Ltd., the company marketing the ESQU brand, in a press release. "Most importantly, consumers now have a brand they can trust. They can be assured that ESQU Atlantic salmon are safe, healthy, consistent and taste great. We hope the ESQU brand will become synonymous with quality and safety."
