NFI launches new 2020 logo highlighting milestone anniversary
The National Fisheries Institute (NFI) is kicking off its celebration of 75 years as an incorporated commercial trade association for the seafood industry with the unveiling of a new logo.
NFI will use the logo – which features a banner highlighting its anniversary – throughout 2020, it said in a 6 January press release. Highlights of NFI’s history will also be shared by the association this year on Aboutseafood.com and across various social media channels using the hashtag #NFI75.
“For 75 years, NFI members have been at the epicenter of the seafood community,” NFI Senior Vice President Judy Dashiell said. “From spearheading sustainability initiatives to revolutionizing ways to bring healthy, delicious seafood to American consumers, our members have been the tip of the spear. It’s only fitting to mark the occasion.”
Materials scheduled to be shared as a part of the 2020 campaign include images from some of the earliest recorded NFI meetings, as well as short videos highlighting association members and executives. Seafood community supporters and colleagues are invited to “join the celebration by sharing memories, pictures, or videos on social media using the hashtag #NFI75,” NFI said.
“We’re honored when we hear how NFI has impacted our members through the years. It’s neat to see how NFI has been woven into the cultures of our member companies because we feel like these businesses are the epicenter of the seafood community,” Dashiell said. “We’ve heard stories of how the NFI’s Future Leaders program has shaped people’s careers. From others in family-owned businesses, we’ve heard that their earliest memories of NFI were as children, learning about the association from their parents– and that’s really special.”
“Many of NFI’s current members have been here through it all, and their predecessors helped build this organization,” she added. “So while it’s NFI’s 75th Anniversary, we celebrate our members for their remarkable time, talents, and insight.”
In-person anniversary celebrations will commence at NFI’s upcoming Global Seafood Market Conference (GSMC) – taking place in Orlando, Florida, from 21 to 23 January – where a special commemoration is planned for the board of directors meeting.
