Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.-based food traceability firm Trace Register has hired Heath England as its new president.
Trace Register is provides full-chain traceability to seafood companies globally via its TR5 platform.
England formerly served as the chief operating officer of The Fishin’ Co., a seafood mporter based in Munhall, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Trace Register CEO Phil Werdal said his company made the move to hire England due to his deep experience in the seafood industry.
“[England] brings a depth of operations, logistics, and distribution expertise to his new role leading every aspect of the business,” Werdal said. “Seafood companies are now facing unprecedented supply chain challenges. Along with Heath England’s depth of operations, logistics, and distribution expertise, he brings a thorough understanding of technology and its applications. This will help our clients learn to use data to improve their operations and supply chains.”
As COO of the The Fishin’ Company, a major tilapia supplier to Walmart, England “played an instrumental role in growing revenues from USD 150 million to USD 460 million [EUR 138 million to EUR 423 million]” from 2016 to 2021. England also played a role in partnering The Fishin’ Company with Trace Register in 2018, integrating its compliance, sustainability, and traceability platforms into a single platform.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he left The Fishin’ Co. in October 2021 after nearly 12 years there and joined Eastern Fish for two months as Vice President of Special Projects, from February to March 2022.
