Bergen, Norway-headquartered salmon-farming firm Lerøy Seafood Group (LSG) harvested approximately 48,900 gutted weight tons (GWT) of Atlantic salmon and trout in the second quarter of this year, which was an increase of 12,200 GWT compared to the corresponding period of 2024.

According to the company’s latest trading update, its operations at its Lerøy Sjøtroll location harvested 20,900 GWT, of which 9,800 GWT was trout; Lerøy Midt harvested 16,900 GWT; and Lerøy Aurora harvested 11,100 GWT.

LSG’s wild catch totals in Q2 2025, fulfilled by its Lerøy Havfisk business segment, totaled 17,700 metric tons (MT), representing a decrease of 100 MT year over year. The decrease mainly came from the group’s catch of cod, which totaled 1,200 MT in Q2 2025 but 1,500 MT a year previously.

Earlier this year, LSG estimated a total salmon and trout harvest volume of 211,000 GWT, including totals from its joint ventures, for the full year of 2025.

Lerøy’s complete Q2 2025 report will be released on 20 August.

Fellow Bergen-headquartered producer Grieg Seafood harvested approximately 21,800 GWT of salmon in Q2 2025, representing an increase of around 5,500 GWT compared to the corresponding period of last year.

Grieg’s most recent trading update highlights that the firm’s Finnmark and Rogaland operations harvested 9,000 GWT and 8,900 GWT of salmon, respectively, in the period, compared to just 3,900 GWT and 2,800 GWT a year previously.

At the same time, the group’s Canadian farming operations in British Columbia produced 4,000 GWT, which was down from 8,600 GWT. No fish were harvested in its Newfoundland operations.

For the full year of 2025, Grieg has guided a harvest volume of 84,000 GWT. Of this, Finnmark is projected to supply 32,000 GWT, Rogaland is projected to supply 30,000 GWT, British Columbia at 12,000 GWT, and Newfoundland at 10,000 GWT.

Its full Q2 report will be published on 26 August.

Another Norwegian salmon-farming firm, Måsøval, has reported a Q2 2025 harvest of 8,538 GWT, which was up from 6,673 GWT in Q2 2024.

Måsøval will issue its complete Q2 report on 19 August.

Across the Norwegian Sea, Faroe Islands-based Bakkafrost Group’s latest trading update reports a total Q2 2025 harvest of 23,000 metric tons (MT) of head-on gutted (HOG) salmon, which is up from 21,500 MT a year previously. Its Faroe operations contributed 16,000 MT, and its Scottish farms harvested 7,000 MT. In the corresponding quarter of last year, the group delivered Faroese and Scottish volumes of approximately 10,200 MT and 11,400 MT, respectively.

At its recent Capital Markets Day, Bakkafrost estimated its 2025 harvest would total 97,000 MT of head-on gutted (HOG) salmon, with 77,000 MT coming from the Faroes and 20,000 MT from Scotland. Its intention, through a new five-year plan, is to increase this total to 162,000 MT by 2030, with the Faroes producing 112,000 MT and Scotland’s output rising to around 50,000 MT annually.

Bakkafrost’s full Q2 2025 report will also be released on 26 August.
