Thai Union North America (TUNA) CEO Bryan Rosenberg is stepping down from the role effective 1 January 2025.

Thai Union said Rosenberg will remain with the company as an executive director and founder, supporting its frozen business, managing customer relationships, and mentoring the next leadership team at the company.

Rosenberg co-founded Chicken of the Sea Frozen Foods (COSFF) with Thai Union in 2006 and, in 2020, also became the leader of Chicken of the Sea International when he stepped into the role of president and CEO of TUNA. Rosenberg succeeded Valentin Ramirez – the president and CEO of Thai Union’s U.S. ambient operations at the time – when they announced their resignation effective 5 June 2020.

The role of CEO of TUNA was created by Thai Union and had Rosenberg responsible for both Chicken of the Sea International and COSFF, the company said at the time.

Thai Union said COSFF Senior Vice President of Operations Daniel Halford has been appointed as the company’s new president, reporting to Rittirong Boonmechote – the president of Thai Union Group's Frozen Business. Meanwhile, Chicken of the Sea International will continue to be led by Andy Mecs, which the company appointed to the position earlier in 2024, Thai Union said.

“It has been our intent for some time to transition the leadership in North America,” Rosenberg said. “I remain fully committed to the long-term success of the business and have complete confidence in Andy, Daniel, and their respective leadership teams to drive the next phase of each company’s growth.”

Thai Union said that under Rosenberg’s leadership, COSFF became the top importer of both shrimp and crabmeat in the U.S.

“I want to thank Bryan for his leadership, partnership, and tenacious spirit in building COSFF to be one of the premier seafood importers in the U.S.” Thai Union Group CEO Thiraphong Chansiri said. “He has worked tirelessly and been a key contributor to our success, most recently guiding COSI to the path of sustainable performance. I am grateful that he remains committed to our organization, working with us on key strategic issues in the North American market.”

Rosenberg’s planned departure comes just over a month after Thai Union Europe’s longtime president Paul Reenan left the role. Reenan was named regional president of Paris, France-based Thai Union Europe in 2017 during a company restructure.
