Thai Union North America has announced it has chosen Blake Stok to serve as its new director of sustainability.
Stok will take over the role and work with the company’s subsidiaries in the U.S. – Chicken of the Sea Frozen Foods and Chicken of the Sea International. He will also be a member of the company’s global sustainability team and work with the company’s sustainability teams in Thailand and Europe on “SeaChange," Thai Union’s sustainability strategy.
A resident of Santa Barbara, California, U.S.A., Stok received his masters of science in sustainability management from American University's Kogod School of Management.
“Blake boasts an impressive background in sustainability management, hands-on experience leading NGOs, and an outstanding aptitude for developing and managing partnerships with key customers,” Thai Union Sustainability Global Group Director Adam Brennan said. “We believe Blake has the talent and experience to help us continue the legacy of the great sustainability work for which we are known.”
Thai Union recently released its sustainability report, showcasing its efforts to realize its sustainability targets. The company has committed to full transparency in its international tuna supply chain by 2025, and the company also said it plans to announce major updates to SeaChange, including the introduction of science-based targets to help fight climate-change threats.
The company also participated in the Ocean Disclosure Project in 2021, and has successfully concluded a number of “blue finance” loan agreements to support its sustainability goals.
