Bergen, Norway-headquartered fish-farming and fishing company Lerøy Seafood Group (LSG) harvested 33,100 gutted-weight tonnage (GWT) of salmon and trout in the second quarter of 2022, representing a decrease of 3,600 GWT compared with the corresponding period of 2021.
According to its latest trading update, the contribution to the farmed fish total from the operations at Lerøy Aurora was 4,400 GWT (down from 5,200 GWT in Q2 2021), and Lerøy Midt supplied 14,100 GWT (down from 14,900 MT), while Lerøy Sjøtroll contributed 14,500 GWT (down from 16,600 GWT).
Some 5,800 GWT of Lerøy’s total harvest volume in Q2 2022 was trout, representing a 1,300 MT rise.
LSG’s second-quarter whitefish catch totaled 18,600 metric tons (MT) of fish, an increase of 2,300 MT year-on-year, all caught through subsidiary Havfisk. Of these landings, cod accounted for 5,800 MT, up from 4,500 MT.
In the first six months of 2022, LSG harvested a total 65,200 GWT of salmon and trout, which was 13,700 GWT less than at the same stage of last year. Its whitefish landings over the same period increased by 1,700 MT year-on-year to 43,800 MT, including 13,900 MT of cod.
