Ace Aquatec expands North American team

Dundee, Scotland-based Ace Aquatec has announced the expansion of its North American team with the addition of two senior employees in Canada.

The Canadian office will be Ace Aquatec’s fourth international base outside of the U.K. The company currently has offices in Australia, Chile, and Norway. The new division, the company said, will be led by Ace Aquatec Regional Manager Sam Bowman, who previously held management positions with Cermaq and Mowi.

Bowman joins Ace Aquatec Director of Scientific Research Jenny Bouwsema – who has worked at fish farms and hatcheries developing technical solutions and carrying out welfare research – and Product Engineer and Design Consultant Adrian Hulme.

“Over the last year, we have taken the decision to grow Ace Aquatec’s presence internationally by making our technology and research knowledge more accessible to fish farmers across the globe,” Ace Aquatec CEO Nathan Pyne-Carter said. “We’re continuing to see the growing demand for more productive, ethical and sustainable methods of fish farming, so expanding our team in North America was the next logical step in our strategy.”

Ace Aquatec specializes in providing new technological solutions to aquaculture, including electric and acoustic predator deterrent systems, an underwater camera for precise biomass readings, and a Humane Stunner which won the 2019 Global Aquaculture Alliance Innovation Award.

“We are a nation known for providing some of the world’s best quality fish so it’s great to be working alongside Ace Aquatec who have an extensive background in providing some of the best aquaculture technology in the world,” Bowman said. “Their ethical and sustainable approach is something to be welcomed by the North American market and I look forward to working alongside the team to grow their presence.”
