Earnings from exports increased 89.89 percent during the period to Rs 14,364.45 crore versus Rs 7564.79 crore in the same period last fiscal. The share of shrimp in the total seafood export earnings also scaled up to 65.41 percent against 51.48 percent in the April–December period last year. The overall export of shrimp during the period was to the tune of 229,010 metric tons, worth USD 2.4 billion (EUR 1.8 billion). The unit value realization also increased 33.69 percent, according to the latest data of the Marine Products Export Development Authority.
