NFI delivers the ‘Dish on Fish’ to American consumers

The National Fisheries Institute has launched a new initiative that aims to educate Americans about the benefits and overall enjoyable experience of consuming seafood, introducing a new blog, Dish on Fish, to help get the message across.

With support on various social media platforms including Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter, Dish on Fish’s primary focus is and will be encouraging Americans to eat seafood at least twice a week, which is what the U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends.

Ultimately, the blog serves as a direct bridge between NFI and the U.S. consumer.

“Dish on Fish is a vehicle for NFI to communicate directly with U.S. consumers, food bloggers and health professionals, such as R.D.’s, about the importance of eating seafood at least twice a week,” NFI Senior Vice President Judy Dashiell said. “We hope to inspire people who eat and prepare seafood to choose it more frequently, both at home and in restaurants. We’re focused on generating content that is conversation-worthy – like recipes and nutrition tips – while also participating in other online discussions about industry trends, topics and issues.”

Content including nutritional information on seafood; tips on buying, storing and preparing seafood; recipes; selected health and nutrition news; and expert guest commentary (including commentary from Rima Kleiner, a registered and licensed dietitian and nutritionist spokesperson for NFI, will be added to the blog on a regular, continual basis.
