Chile’s largest salmon exporters ranked through October 2016

Chile’s leading salmon* exporter for the period between January and October 2016 was Empresas AquaChile, according to a report from Economia y Negocios.

AquaChile beat out Cermaq, which was listed as the second largest exporter, distributing 45,000 metric tons of salmon with a total return of USD 315 million (EUR 295 million) for the better part of 2016. Cermaq, meanwhile, exported 41,000 metric tons of salmon during the same timeframe, for approximately USD 257.1 million (EUR 241 million).

The third largest exporter for the region was Los Fiordos, Agrosuper’s salmon arm, with an export volume of 32,000 metric tons and USD 241.3 million (EUR 226 million) in returns. Australis Mar, Multiexport Foods and Marine Harvest also made the cut as some of Chile’s largest exporters for January to October 2016.
